Miguel Bonnefoy’s Family Album:
A campaign to promote the book Le Rêve du Jaguar, winner of the 2024 Femina Prize.
In partnership with the creative teams at Maison Dīcēs agency and Rivages publishing house, I conceived and produced a video format to promote the book Le Rêve du Jaguar, winner of the 2024 Femina Prize and the Grand Prize of the French Academy.
The aim was to explore the richness of author Miguel Bonnefoy’s family life, which served as the main inspiration for the novel’s narrative.
The project began with a meeting with the author and the filming of the video sequences, coordinated by Mathilde Cherel. My role was to design the visual format and handle the editing. In this process, I sought both to highlight Rivages’ editorial aesthetic and to bring to life the “characters” evoked by Miguel.
The video achieved significant reach: over 9,000 views (for a base of 22,000 followers) and strong audience engagement (508 likes, 39 comments). But what struck me the most were the reactions from Miguel’s own family, who loved the result, and especially his mother, the “Venezuela” of the book. During the editing process, she had entrusted me with a photo from her youth that became central to the video. After its release, she jokingly remarked: “Now the whole of France has seen me in a bikini.”
Project goals :
-
Highlight the book and showcase the richness of its narrative universe
-
Foster a connection between the audience and the author through a personal narrative
-
Capture interest and engage the audience
-
Support and amplify the book’s critical success
